Who We Are

Tothill Strategy understands how government works because we have worked in government. We are former political advisers, civil servants, parliamentary staff, and campaign organisers. We use the knowledge gained in those roles to help get a hearing for causes that deserve one.

Why We Exist

So many valid causes lose because they lack access. The third sector sees the real-world impact of policy first. They get some of the best, fastest evidence of what works and what doesn’t. Yet many can’t get into the rooms where decisions are made and where their knowledge would have real impact. Commercial firms and trade organisations have long employed skilled professionals solely to make their arguments, while the people impacted are left out. Tothill Strategy was created so the often-forgotten third sector could get the same, from professionals who share its values and understand its limits. Small by choice, we take on clients where we believe we can make a real, lasting impact, and say no when we don’t.

Who We Work With

We work across the third sector, from household names to small single-cause campaigns with one urgent ask.

National Charities

Building a public affairs function from scratch or refreshing an existing one.

Membership Bodies

Helping you to speak for your sector with a single voice to Government and beyond.

Small and Specialist Charities

We can support you to punch above your size on the one issue that matters to you.

Trusts and Foundations

Turning what grant recipients have learned into real policy change.

Social Enterprises

Making the case for regulation that lets them flourish.

Coalitions

Helping you to agree on a common vision and a path to get there while keeping partners in step.

Fees

Our payment terms always include clear prices agreed in advance. We work on either fixed-price projects or monthly retainers, and we agree on a price before we begin. We don’t bill by the hour, and we try to keep our pricing set for the third sector with a handful of reduced-fee contracts for smaller causes.
